Meredith Schwilk (Owner/Physiotherapist)

SIRA # 2728

Meredith has always had a heart for rural and regional communities. She spent her first year of Physiotherapy in Orange, with a rotation to Cowra. Then onto Young before travelling and working overseas.

Always with a commitment to learning and quality care Meredith undertook her first post graduate training in Manipulative Physiotherapy before returning to Orange to open the practice. Meredith then followed up with a Masters of Sports Physiotherapy (Griffith University)

In the days before the internet made training more accessible Meredith has provided training to rural physios both in Young (Rural Health Research Grant) and undertook 2 short term visits to Northern Iraq to assist with equipping Kurdish physiotherapists. Along with the assistance of the APA and regional groups she has facilitated the organisation of courses to rural areas.

Since June 2014 Meredith has provided outreach to Cobar

Meredith’s interests are diverse but include travel, reading, catching up with friends over a meal or a cuppa. She gained a private pilots licence and loves getting up in the air to catch the view.

Woofy (The Wagtail Wonder Dog)

Then there is Woofy- never far from Meredith’s side. He brings joy to our clients and staff alike. in his role as an accredited Pets as Therapy Dog he comes to work at On The Move and visits Aged Care Facilities and prior to Covid-19 the Rehab Ward at Orange Health Services.

Woofy has been endorsed by CASA to fly. When heading out to Cobar he is eagerness personified and can hardly wait to get up on the wing and into the plane “Don’t forget me” is written all over him… (not likely). If he didn’t arrive in Cobar no doubt there would be the question of “Where’s Woofy?”
